Rascal Flatts are standing by their opening act, Jessica Simpson. Lead singer Gary LeVox says Simpson is in a no-win situation with her critics because "whatever she does, they pick her apart." Bassist Jay DeMarcus calls her "a wonderfully gifted singer" and says "all the other stuff overshadows what she's really about, and it's unfortunate." It's unclear what Simpson's future in the country music industry will be. She recently parted ways with her Nashville record label.
